Female firefighters are few and far between in the Louisville Fire Department.3 CommentsComment on Facebook
Being a former firefighter myself I didn't care man or woman comrad beside me but needed the confidence that they could drag me out if I went down, that's approximately 250-300 pounds full gear, tough job that's not for everyone
I’m hearing some big time stories about some of the females.
Why ?? What is the purpose?? You hire only the best. If the best happens to be mixed race midgets, that's who I'm hiring. This diversity crap is stupid beyond measure, and serves no purpose.

If the mayor's vehicle showed one bit of rust it would immediately be swapped out. But when it's a fire engine or ladder truck it's no big deal. If illegal immigrants had to 'live in' hotels that looked those firehouses some DC politician would be crying a river. But when first responders are expected to use those facilities it's no big deal. Like always the city of Louisville would rather band aid the issue instead of fixing it correctly the first time. City Council how about you fully fund Louisville Fire? Stop making excuses.

Yes!! LFD needs a dedicated 24 hour fully staffed heavy rescue. And that should be just the beginning! Let’s put E-11 back on track and Q-7 goes back to Truck 7. Then make a plan to fill for the next few years to eliminate the Quints and reactivate E-3 & T-10, E-4 & T-6, E-7, E-14 & T9, E-19 & T-5. And properly staff all of these! I remember when the city completed that process the first time and fire ground efficiency soared. It took a number of years to get there but it made a big difference. Then various mayors started the process to reverse all that. Time to restore it.
How about bring back tier 1 retirement, that’s a good recruiting tool🤷♂️
Or here’s a controversial thought…..Metro Government needs to have funds appropriately allocated so that LFR can be properly supported in their overall functions such as staffing a full time heavy rescue.
